STAIR SKIRTBOARD INSTALLATION

My stairs have Trex steps which were done well but where the risers met the skirtboard was acute V shaped gaps that were addressed with caulk. Framing Stairs with a Landing An L-shaped staircase is less complicated than you might think, and the framing techniques shown here will improve even the most basic set of stairs. They can cut the pieces that go on the bottom of the stringers and set them aside for installation after the stairs are finished. This allows that skirtboard to slide along the wall and into the finish treads and risers that have already been loosely installed into the dadoes on the other skirtboard.
